2012 football signees Adarrius Perkins and Nick Schuessler will not be on the Mississippi State roster this fall, university officials confirmed Wednesday.
Schuessler, a quarterback, and Perkins, an athlete prospect, have both been on campus taking classes and will pursue other directions in their football careers.
MSU will now be down to only two scholarship quarterbacks on the roster, but does have a handful of walk-on passers on the team. Junior Tyler Russell is the lone quarterback with game experience, while redshirt freshman Dak Prescott waits in the wings.
Perkins, listed at 6’, 1”, 207 pounds, was a three-star prospect from Hattiesburg, Miss., according to Scout.com and Rivals.com, while the 6’, 4”, 190-pound Schuessler is from Loganville, Ga., and was rated a three-star prospect by 247 Sports.
