Dawgs will get early shot in national spotlight

The Southeastern Conference announced today the times and television information for the first three games of the 2012 football season and Mississippi State will start the campaign off with an almost-immediate turn in the national spotlight.

The season-opener against Jackson State on September 1 will kick off at 6 p.m. under the lights of Davis Wade stadium in Starkville and will be broadcasted by Fox Sports Net.

The following Saturday on September 8, the Bulldogs will take center stage, hosting Auburn at 11 a.m. in a nationally-televised game on ESPN.

Dan Mullen’s first SEC game of the season will be an opportunity for the Bulldogs to take down a western division foe in front of both the home crowd and ESPN viewers across the country.

As previously announced by MSU, the SEC also released the information for State’s game at Troy on September 15 which will kickoff at 6 p.m. The Bulldogs’ second night game in the first three tilts will be aired only on ESPN3.com.
