So, How Was Your Day?
For the Monday of an off week, there was actually a lot going on today.
Gabe Jackson was named by the SEC as the Offensive Lineman of the Week after paving the way for MSU’s offensive onslaught against Troy Saturday. He’s certainly deserving.
Also honored for his performance was junior receiver Jameon Lewis, who was named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll (which automatically puts him on the watch list, too) after he scored a touchdown rushing, receiving and passing on Saturday. The Hornung Award, of course, goes to the most versatile player in the country every year. Tubby would seem to fit the mold.
Also, if you missed it this morning, make sure you scroll down and peruse my story on being a water boy with MSU’s training staff. It’s surprisingly stressful and difficult. Fun, though.
As for actual football, MSU didn’t and won’t practice today. They have the day off and return to the field tomorrow.
As mentioned, the Bulldogs are back in practice, so we’ll visit with some of them afterward tomorrow evening, which I will be sure to pass along notes from.
Elsewhere in the near future, though not necessarily tomorrow, I caught up with volleyball freshman Kimmy Gardiner for a Meet Your Bulldogs that will be out later this week, and we’re in the editing process of my pentathlon video with Erica Bougard, MSU’s National Champion in the five-event competition.
